Folders / Audit Log

The Audit Log displays a list of logged events for a given document or folder. You may track edits to documents and control access to documents.

Events logged by MAGIQ Documents at the document level are as follows:

  • Version Deletes
  • Security Audit Log
  • New Versions
  • Check Outs
  • Check Ins
  • Sox Review Log
  • Classification Log
  • View Log

Events logged by MAGIQ Documents at the Folder level are as follows:

  • Version Deletes
  • Security Audit Log
  • New Versions
  • Check Outs
  • Check Ins
  • Deletes
  • New Documents and Folders

To view the Audit Log for folders, perform the following:

  1. Click on the "Action" icon and choose the "Properties" menu of the folder.
  2. The "Folder Properties" window will appear
  3. Click on "Audit Log" link from the side menu.
  4. The "Audit Log" window will appear.
  5. Select the log you wish to view.
  6. Specify a date range to narrow the report to a specific time interval
  7. Click on the "Show" button to display the log

To view the Audit Log for documents, perform the following:

  1. Click on the "Action" icon and choose the "Properties" menu of the document.
  2. The "Document Properties" window will appear
  3. Click on "Audit Log" link from the side menu.
  4. The "Audit Log" window will appear.
  5. Select the log you wish to view.
  6. Specify a date range to narrow the report to a specific time interval
  7. Click on the "Show" button to display the log

To view the Audit Log for documents and folders for the entire system, perform the following:

  1. Navigate to the MAGIQ Documents Control Panel
  2. Click on the Audit Logs & Reports link
  3. The "Audit Log" window will appear.
  4. Select the log you wish to view.
  5. Specify a date range to narrow the report to a specific time interval
  6. Click on the "Show" button to display the log

Each document stores information regarding users who have viewed it. To see a list of users who have viewed a particular document, navigate to the document properties of the document and click on the "View Log" link.

If you are the System Administrator and would like to see a list of documents that a particular user has viewed, navigate to the "User Properties" from the "Control Panel", "Users" list and select "User Properties". The "User Properties" window contains various user reports. You may view them by clicking on the tabs located on the bottom of the "User Properties" window.
